At this stage, not a lot. My travelling companion and I are both getting distinctly doddery, so we're taking it slow and not covering too much ground. After a night in Paddington we're heading to Royston. A James VI & I memorial visit, inspired by a Gresham lecture by Simon Thurley, but as Royston is handy to London we're planning to make forays from there. Medieval Women, and Kew's Christmas lights. Then we'll be back in London for a weekend to see "Juno and the Paycock", and "Venus & Adonis". Next, we're basing ourselves in Bury St Edmunds for a week, whence I might manage a Thomas Nashe memorial visit or two. Then we're heading to Shropshire, one of our favourite counties, for about 10 days. We've already booked a lunch at The Bear Inn at Hodnet! And after that to Winchester, where I will do my best not to think, "Serves you right, Wat, for helping to set up Essex."
Back to London for a day or so; we may go to see the refurbishments at Hever Castle. Then home.
That sounds like quite a lot to me! Bury St Edmunds and Winchester are both lovely. Do let me know how you get on. Will you have a car? There are some interesting / beautiful places not far from the former, for sure: Lavenham, Sudbury, Long Melford, etc
Something else for my to-see list when I'm in England next month!
Let me know what you think! What else do you have planned?

No car; for shorter side trips we rely on local busses and taxis. It generally works well.
